How To Configure AOL Mail Server Settings?

AOL Mail is a free email service that allows you to configure the email account on desktop email clients and mobile phones. But you need the AOL Mail server settings to configure a POP or IMAP account. To assist you with that, we have given the settings below. Go through these settings and configure your account in your desktop email client.

Incoming mail server (POP3): pop.aol.com

Server port number: 995

SSL enabled: Yes

Incoming mail server (IMAP): imap.aol.com

Server port number: 993

SSL enabled: Yes

Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.aol.com

Server port number: 465

SSL enabled: Yes

Outlook 2016 App

  • Step 1: Launch the Outlook app on your computer by double-clicking its shortcut icon on the desktop.
  • Step 2: Click the File tab at the top-left corner and select the Info option.
  • Step 3: Click the Add Account button below Account Information.
  • Step 4: Next, select the checkbox Manual setup or additional server types.
  • Step 5: Click the Next button and choose the POP or IMAP option.
  • Step 6: On the POP and IMAP Account Settings page, fill the following sections.
  • Step 7: User Information
  • Step 8: Server Information
  • Step 9: Logon Information
  • Step 10: Under User Information, give a name for your AOL email account in the Your Name field.
  • Step 11: Input your AOL email address in the Email Address field.
  • Step 12: In the Server Information section, select POP or IMAP as your account type from the drop-down menu.
  • Step 13: Input both the incoming and outgoing mail server names in the required fields.
  • Step 14: Under the Logon Information section, enter your email address and password.
  • Step 15: Click on More Settings to open the Internet Email Settings window and configure the settings.
  • Step 16: Move to the Outgoing Server tab and select the My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication checkbox.
  • Step 17: Also, select the radio button Use same settings as my incoming mail server.
  • Step 18:Click the Advanced tab and select theSSL option from the Use the following type of encrypted connection drop-down menu.
  • Step 19: Input the correct server port numbers in the Incoming server and Outgoing server (SMTP) fields.
  • Step 20: Click OK and return to the POP and IMAP Account Settings page.
  • Step 21: Click the Test Account Settings button to verify the configured AOL server settings.
  • Step 22: Once the verification is complete, click Next and then select Finish.

You have now configured the AOL mail server settings. Henceforth, you can access it quickly from the Outlook app.
