Apple Mail POP Settings

How To Setup Apple Mail POP Settings?

Apple Mail is the default email client on macOS computers. You can configure your email account as a POP or IMAP email in the Mail (Apple Mail) app. The Post Office Protocol (POP) is an older method of retrieving emails from the mail server. When it downloads the emails to your computer, the messages in the mail server will be deleted. You need to know the Apple mail POP settings before configuring any email account in the app.

POP:

  • Step 1: Incoming mail server: mail.example.com
  • Step 2: Server type: SSL
  • Step 3: Server port number: 995
  • Step 4: Email address: Your full email address
  • Step 5: Password: Your email account password

SMTP:

  • Step 1: Outgoing mail server: mail.example.com
  • Step 2: Server type: SSL/TLS
  • Step 3: Server port number: 465
