  • Step 8: The email address format of the Comcast account should be username@comcast.net.
  • Step 9: Make sure to select the IMAP protocol from the Account Type drop-down menu.
  • Step 10: Type the imap.comcast.net hostname in the Incoming Mail Server field. Now, type smtp.comcast.net in the Outgoing Mail Server field.
  • Step 11: Provide the name that you want to display while sending emails from the Comcast email account in the User Name field.
  • Step 12: Enter the Comcast email account’s password in the Password field. If required, select the Remember Password option checkbox.
  • Step 13: To test the account settings automatically after entering the required information, select the checkbox beside the Automatically test account settings when Next is clicked’ option.

  • Step 15: Now, you will see the Internet Email Settings dialog box on the screen.
  • Step 16: Go to the Outgoing Server tab and checkmark the box next to the ‘My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication’ option.
  • Step 17: Ensure that you have you clicked the radio button beside the ‘Use same settings as my incoming mail server’ option.
  • Step 18: Navigate to the Advanced tab, and enter the 993 port in the Incoming Server (IMAP) field.
  • Step 19: Check if you have selected the SSL option from the ‘Use the following type of encrypted connection’ drop-down list. This will help to transfer emails in an encrypted way.
  • Step 20: You can select either the SSL or TLS option from the ‘Use the following type of encrypted connection’ drop-down menu.
  • Step 21: If you have chosen the SSL encryption, type the 465 port in the Outgoing Server (SMTP) field.
  • Step 22: If you select the TLS encryption, enter the 587 port in the Outgoing Server (SMTP) field.
  • Step 23: Once you finish with the incoming and outgoing server settings, click the OK button in the Internet Email Settings dialog box.
  • Step 24: As soon as you select the Next option in the POP and IMAP Account Settings dialog box, the Microsoft Outlook 2016 application starts to test the Comcast email settings.
  • Step 25: If the email account settings are correct, you will see the ‘Congratulations! All tests completed successfully’ message.
