- Step 1:First, enable the enable pop option on your gmail account.
- Step 2:To do that, launch the default web browser on your system.
- Step 3:Navigate to the gmail login page.
- Step 4:Sign in to your gmail account using the correct credentials.
- Step 5:Click the settings icon on the main screen.
- Step 6:Navigate to the forwarding and pop/imap tab.
- Step 7:Click the radio button next to the enable pop for all mail option.
- Step 8:Set the message access settings by selecting the option from the drop-down menu.
- Step 9:You can also click the configuration instructions text to get the basic configuration procedure.
- Step 10:After setting the preferences in the settings window, click the save changes button available at the bottom of the window.
- Step 11:Now, open the outlook application on your system.
- Step 12:Click fileinfoaccount settings.
- Step 13:Now the account settings dialog box will appear on the screen.
- Step 14:Click the email tab and select the new option.
- Step 15:In the add account setup window, locate the manually configure server settings or additional server types option and select it by clicking the radio button beside it.
- Step 16:Select the internet e-mail option on the choose service screen.
- Step 17:Now the internet e-mail settings window will open.
- Step 18:In the your name & e-mail address fields, enter your name and gmail address.
- Step 19:Select the pop3 option from the account type drop-down menu.
- Step 20:Enter pop.gmail.com in the incoming mail server (pop3) text field.
- Step 21:Similarly, type the smtp.gmail.com address in the outgoing mail server (smtp) field.
- Step 22:In the logon information section, enter your name and gmail account password in the respective fields.
- Step 23:You can enable the remember password option if you wish to save your email account’s security key.
- Step 24:Mark the checkbox beside the test account settings by clicking the next button option. When you finish the entire configuration process, the account test process begins automatically.
- Step 25:Click the more settings.. Button followed by the outgoing server tab.
- Step 26:Enable the my outgoing server (smtp) requires authentication and use same settings as my incoming mail server options.
- Step 27:Now, navigate to the advanced tab. Enter 995 in the incoming server (pop3) field and enable the this server requires an encrypted connection (ssl) option by marking the checkbox beside it.
- Step 28:Type the 587 in the outgoing server (smtp) port number box.
- Step 29:Choose the tls or ssl option from the drop-down menu and click the ok button.
- Step 30:Now, a test mail message will be sent to your email account.
