  • Step 1: Launch the main interface of the Microsoft Outlook Express application on your computer.

  • Step 4: Check if the Mail Account field shows POP.

  • Step 9: If any one of the information entered is incorrect, change it.
  • Step 10: If the POP3 Stat problem persists, perform the following steps.
  • Step 11: In the main window of the Microsoft Outlook Express application, go to Tools and click the Accounts option.
  • Step 12: After you select the email account, select the Properties option and click the Advanced tab.
  • Step 13: Go to the Incoming Mail (POP3) section and select the ‘This server requires a secure connection (SSL) option.
  • Step 14: Also, select this option under the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) section.
  • Step 15: Click OK followed by Close.
  • Step 16: Now, check if the POP3 STAT error has been resolved.
  • Step 17: If not, remove and re-add the email account.

Removing your email account:

  • Step 1: Select Tools -> Accounts -> Mail.
  • Step 2: Choose your email account and click the Remove option.
  • Step 3: If promoted, select the Yes option followed by the Close option.
  • Step 4: This will remove your email account from the Microsoft Outlook Express email client.

Re-adding the email account:

  • Step 1: Select the following options on the Microsoft Outlook Express application in order.
  • Step 2: Tools
  • Step 3: Accounts
  • Step 4: Mail
  • Step 5: Add
  • Step 6: Mail
  • Step 7: Fill the Display Name and Email Address fields. Click the Next option.
  • Step 8: This will add your email account to the Microsoft Outlook Express email client.
  • Step 9: Once done, configure the incoming mail and outgoing mail servers settings of the email account correctly.
