Step 1 - Basic Troubleshooting

  • Step 1: Check if your computer has a stable Internet connection to access your Verizon emails.
  • Step 2: If Internet connectivity is the reason behind the problem, troubleshoot it first.
  • Step 3: If the problem is not due to the Internet, continue with the steps given below.

Step 2 - Update Server Settings

  • Step 1: Open the Mozilla Thunderbird email client.
  • Step 2: Navigate to Menu on the upper-right corner of the screen and click it.
  • Step 3: Select Options followed by Account Settings.
  • Step 4: Click the Server Settings tab in the left panel.
  • Step 5: Check if the following server settings are correct.
  • Step 6: Server Type - POP Mail Server or IMAP Mail Server
  • Step 7: Server Name - pop.verizon.net (POP) or smtp.verizon.net (IMAP)
  • Step 8: Port - 995 (POP) or 993 (IMAP)
  • Step 9: User Name - Your Verizon email address
  • Step 10: Connection security - SSL/TLS
  • Step 11: Authentication method - Normal password
  • Step 12: Make the required changes to the settings and click the OK button.
  • Step 13: If the Verizon email is still not working, delete and add your email account as per the steps provided below.

Step 3 - Delete Verizon Email Account In Thunderbird

  • Step 1: Launch Mozilla Thunderbird, navigate to Menu, and click the Account Settings option.
  • Step 2: Choose your Verizon email account.
  • Step 3: Click the Account Actions drop-down menu and select the Remove Account option.
  • Step 4: When prompted, click the OK button for confirmation.
  • Step 5: Continue with the next step to resolve the Verizon email not working problem.

Step 4 - Add Your Verizon Email Account In Thunderbird

  • Step 1: Go back to the main interface of Mozilla Thunderbird.
  • Step 2: Click Account Actions -> Add Mail Account.
  • Step 3: Enter your display name in the Your name field. Type your Verizon email address and password.
  • Step 4: If needed, select the Remember password checkbox. This will save your email password in Thunderbird.
  • Step 5: Click the Continue button followed by the Manual config button.
  • Step 6: Provide the following Verizon email account details and click the Done button.

POP And SMTP

  • Step 1: Incoming mail server - pop.verizon.net
  • Step 2: Incoming port - 995
  • Step 3: Outgoing mail server - smtp.verizon.net
  • Step 4: Outgoing port - 465

IMAP And SMTP

  • Step 1: Incoming mail server - imap.aol.com
  • Step 2: Incoming port - 993
  • Step 3: Outgoing mail server - smtp.verizon.net
  • Step 4: Outgoing port - 465
