How To Configure The Zoho IMAP Settings For Thunderbird?

Zoho Mail is an email service and Thunderbird is an email client that helps you access your email account. In some situations, you might need to add Zoho Mail to Thunderbird. On this page, we shall discuss how to configure the Zoho IMAP settings for thunderbird.

Steps To Configure

  • Step 1: On the device you are using, log into your Zoho Mail account.
  • Step 2: Click the Settings tab.
  • Step 3: Choose Mail Accounts and then click on IMAP Access.
  • Step 4: Next, select the checkbox next to the Enable IMAP Access option.
  • Step 5: You now have to open the Mozilla Thunderbird application on the device you are using.
  • Step 6: Go to the Menu bar and then select the Tools option.
  • Step 7: Now, choose the Account settings option. You will find that the Account settings window pops up.
  • Step 8: You have to click on Account actions and then click on the Add Mail account button.
  • Step 9: In the Mail Account Setup window that pops up next, fill in all the required details. Now, click on the Continue button and continue with the steps for configuring the Zoho IMAP settings for Thunderbird.
  • Step 10: Thunderbird will now obtain the details of the Incoming and Outgoing mail servers for your Zoho Mail account. You can also manually configure these server details. To do this task, you need to click on the Manual config button in the Mail Account Setup window.
  • Step 11: In the next window, enter your Zoho Account’s email address in the space provided for the purpose. You will have to type in the domain-based email address in case you are opting for domain hosting.
  • Step 12: From the drop-down provided for the Incoming Server type, choose the IMAP option.

For the Incoming IMAP Server

For Personal Use

  • Step 1: Incoming Server Hostname: imap.zoho.com.
  • Step 2: Port Number: 993.
  • Step 3: Choose SSL/TLS and Normal Password for authentication.

For Organizational Use

  • Step 1: Incoming Server Hostname: imappro.zoho.com.
  • Step 2: Port Number: 993.
  • Step 3: Choose SSL/TLS and Normal Password for authentication.

For Outgoing SMTP Server

  • Step 1: Outgoing Server Hostname: smtp.zoho.com.
  • Step 2: Port Number: 465.
  • Step 3: Choose SSL/TLS and Normal Password for authentication.

In the space given for the Username field, provide your full Zoho account email address.Finally, click on the Done button.You have now completed configuring the Zoho IMAP settings for thunderbird.
